In recent years, relations between China and Indonesia have been on the rise, and the two nations have taken steps to strengthen their bond. On November 10th, 2019, China and Indonesia opened the first Chinese embassy in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia.
The Chinese embassy is located in the heart of the city and is the largest foreign embassy in the country. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi attended the opening ceremony, along with other officials from both countries. During the ceremony, Minister Wang Yi said that the embassy would be a platform for deepening bilateral cooperation between China and Indonesia.
